Rules & Regulations

The contest is planned to be conducted in three rounds. All the rounds will be judged by renowned toastmasters of the country adhering to the rules and regulations of TMI.

The afore mentioned three rounds are as follows

Preliminaries
Thursday, 07th October 2010

  • This round will be open to all undergraduates of the university who have registered for the contest.
  •  Each participant will have to give a prepared speech of 5-7 mins on a topic of his/her choice
  • All participants will receive participation certificates.

    Semi-Finals
    Wednesday, 13th October 2010
    •  The 12 best contestants of the preliminaries will contest for the semi-finals.
    •  There will be 2 reserves excluding the above 12 chosen by the judges during the preliminaries.
    •  Each contestant will have to deliver a prepared speech of 5-7 minutes and an impromptu speech of 1-2.5 minutes.
    •  All the contestants of the semi-finals will receive certificates.

      The Grand Finale
      Tuesday, 19th October 2010

      •  The 5 best contestants of the Semi-finals will be eligible to compete in the Grand Finale.
      •  There will be 2 reserves excluding the above 5 chosen by the judges during the semi-final.
      •  Each contestant will have to deliver a prepared speech of 5-7 minutes and an impromptu speech of 1-2.5 minutes.
      •  In addition, each of the contestants will have to face an interview session in front of the audience conducted by the Contest Chair.
      •  All the contestants of the Grand Finale will receive certificates from the Toastmasters International.
      •  The winner will receive the Speak Olympiad challenge Shield, gift vouchers and a special mention certificate from the Toastmasters International.
      •  The 1st and 2nd runners up will receive gift vouchers and a special mention certificates as well as cash prices.

      • All decisions made by the judges will be final!
